Sate Crate Featured in J Mag: A Story of Youth Leadership & Compassion

We were honored to have Sate Crate featured in J Mag (Dec 2022), recognizing the work we began in 2022 as three Pakistani female high school students with one guiding belief:

“Serving with Compassion. Empowering with Care.”

What started as a small initiative to address food insecurity in the Four State Area quickly became a growing community effort focused on supporting refugee and immigrant families facing economic and food-related hardships.

The article highlighted how youth leadership, faith, and community collaboration can create meaningful grassroots impact. Through partnership with the Islamic Society of Joplin and the dedication of volunteers, Sate Crate established a self-serve food station accessible 24/7 — allowing families to receive support with dignity and privacy.

As shared in the feature, the mission was never just about food — it was about restoring hope, strengthening communities, and empowering vulnerable families, especially women.

Being recognized in J Mag was not just a milestone — it was a reminder that small beginnings, when rooted in compassion, can grow into lasting impact.

We remain committed to continuing this journey of service.
